Diagnosis Of Glomerular Disease

The patients who have the presence of glomerular disease show presence of some amount of protein in the urine. This is mostly known as “neuphrotic range” if the levels are very high. In some particular kind of glomerualar disease the presence of the red blood cells inside the urine are very common. When urine is analyzed it can be found that the damage in the kidney is caused by the accumulation of high levels of protein and red blood cells in the urine. When blood test is done they ensure the level of these harmful waste products such as creatinine and urea nitrogen. These show whether the kidney can do its functioning of filtration properly. Incase the report of such tests show damage in the kidneys then the doctor can ask the patients to go for an ultrasound or an x-ray. With that done one can check whether the shape and the sizes of the kidney are normal or not. Renal Imaging is what these tests are called. The glomerular disease creates problems at the level of the cell. So the doctors mainly recommend a biopsy of the kidney. During this procedure a needle is used to remove small pieces of tissue and they are analyzed in front of various kinds of microscopes. Each of these microscopes depicts different angle of these tissues. A biopsy comes up to be really helpful as it can ascertain whether there is the presence of glomerular disease and the reasons behind its occurrence.
